I had a few questions about the standard reseller accounts:

Do you have to already have to have an Acunett account?
Can you admin multiple standard accounts from a control panel?
Can you have personal nameservers?
Have you ran into any problems with the standard accounts?

Thanks,

No you don't have to have an AcuNett account. Although the first reseller package you purchase is at the standard price as shown on the site. All packages after the first are 25% off.

All virtual hosting plans (standard reseller packages) will be added to your administrative control panel where you can manage them.
Yes, you will be provided with two IPs to register personal nameservers.

What do you mean by problems?

By problems, I have two questions.
Have there been any problems since this is a new option?
And any tips on using a standard account versus a multi-domain account?

Also have a few more questions.
The starter and standard do not come with SSL. Can these accounts be upgraded to a dedicated IP and have SSL? Is SSL with professional account a shared SSL?

Also, if I signed up for an Acunett Multi-domain resell account, would the first standard account then purchased be at the discount? And then could all account be contolled though one control panel.

This way if I were hosting non-profits and charites or had custom plans, those accounts could be hosted under a multi account and stadard accounts coul be for regular cusotmers.

Thanks,

We have not encountered any problems.

A standard account would mean you are in the safe zone in regards to profit. You would purchase a new account only when you get a new client. If you get a lot of clients, you may want to switch instead to a multi-domain (bulk reseller) account, as then you can make your own plans, and it is much cheaper.

For example, consider the Silver Plan vs the Starter Plan.

To equal the Silver Plan, you would need 10 Starter plans.
The Silver Plan costs $19.95/month currently (due to change with coming of new site)

10 Starter Plans cost:
First one: $3.99
Future ones: 9 x 2.99 = 26.91

Total = You save about $11, and the silver plan comes with many features that the starter plan doesn't, such as SSL, MySQL, and scripting support.

The SSL with the professional account is on a default PLESK certificate.
These accounts may be upgraded with a dedicated IP and have SSL. You can create a self-signed certificate, use the default PLESK cert, or purchase one from a provider.

If you purchase a Bulk Reseller Account first, yes we can give you a discount for all your future standard reseller packages including the first one.

Wait a sec. If you get the bulk reseller account, why would you ever want to buy a standard account? Can't you just add your own account, assuming you have the space & bandwidth?

Standard Reseller accounts are for resellers who do not feel comfortable yet purchasing a Bulk Reseller account. If you purchase a Bulk Reseller account, you would be losing money immediately. However, if you markup AcuNett's Standard Reseller accounts and resell those, you are guaranteed profits. However, in the long run (assuming you obtain customers), you will recieve more profits from purchasing a Bulk Reseller account. Just look at the numbers....that Ronny did in his head  .

I don't think that answered my concern. Yes, I understand the advantage of starting out with a standard account, until you've built up the business. That makes a lot of sense. But Ronny said,

"If you purchase a Bulk Reseller Account first, yes we can give you a discount for all your future standard reseller packages including the first one."

To me, it doesn't make sense to get a Bulk Reseller account, and then turn around and get standard reseller packages (even if they are discounted). What am I missing here?

If I am not mistaking, I believe you also get a discount on Bulk Reseller Packages. Please confirm with Ronny or Rob.

Yes, most people will not purchase a bulk reseller account then go back to buying standard ones seperatly. This is just an option they have if they feel they need to for some reason. :-D
