How do I setup a custom 404 error page?

There is an "error_docs" directory for each virtual host that contains html pages for each of four types of errors, the most often used being "not_found.html" - for the dreaded  404 error.

Simply replace that page (or those pages) with whatever you want. Example on some of my simple sites - I just give a choice of returning to the home page or clicking to a search engine (my own, of course  ). Sometimes I just use a blank page with a meta tag "refresh" back to the home page.

Good luck. C'ya,

Just starting to "explore" the Plesk Interface. I have not used it before - just uploaded one page for www.TravelSources.com. (So I haven't uploaded my usual custom error page yet - I just added the word "Sorry" to the existing 404 page to make sure it worked before I responded to your question. )

I don't have anything "serious" here yet because I have not had time. I am planning to use my account for several small sites related to my business (and maybe give a couple "small spots" to some teacher-friends who are interested in learning).

What are you working on? Here or elsewhere?

Just login into your account via ftp,go into errordocs, find index.html and made some changes to it.It's an easy job.

with my error pages I put html in there from my index page with a message saying the page you have tried is not available or you have tried an incorrect URL please use a link to my site from this page.

I did this with one of my sites, is this good practice?
