View Full Version : FAQ suggestion
Maybe I'm wrong but you used to have a FAQ section in these forums. Perhaps you deleted them when you added your new FAQ section (which is difficult to find because the small link isn't obvious). Regardless, I had to search hard to find out how my clients can check their webmail (cpanel). Here's what I found on the forum:
Okay - yesterday I was able to read mail for an e-mail account by going to http://domain.tld:2095 and putting in the e-mail name and password.
And if I remember from way back, using https and 2096 should do the same but under higher "security"
Anyway, this info is not listed in your FAQ so I'm just making the suggestion of putting it there where it can easily be found.

Another FAQ suggestion: I had problems last week with bandwidth limits. I'm not talking about that here, but I just checked my webmail and for the first time saw that "I" was sent several warning emails that I was approaching my limit. Problem is that those emails were all sent to admin@domain.tdl, and I never set up or used "admin" as an email so I never got the warnings. I like that you tied to send me warnings but they went to a non-existant address. I suggest you tell people (maybe in the FAQ) that if they don't already use "admin" as an email address, that everybody should set up an "admin" forwarder to go to their regular email.

(any other addresses that Acunett may have important stuff automatically sent to?)
I started this thread several months ago but I'm asking again for Accunet to add more information to the FAQ section. I've been telling clients that they can get to their email thru the web by attaching ":2095" to their domain but I just stumbled accidentally upon the fact that they can also get their using the easier to remember method of "/webmail".
Also for the FAQ section (and because I want to know the answer) is "What is the POP3 and SMTP email settings for setting up email applications?" I thought the answer to both was just "mail.domain.tld" but It's not working so maybe that was incorrect?
Thanks. 8)

Hi Mike,
Tommorrow we will be adding to the knowledge base on our support site so we will be sure to add these suggestions.
For future reference, "mail.domain.tld" will work as both the incoming and outgoing mail servers if setup correctly. What errors are you getting when using "mail.domain.tld"?
Regards,
Rob
In this case I've been trying to set up a voicexml system (not acunett) to retrieve email (on acunett) via telephone. The only message I get is a verbal message that I need to check my email settings. Now that you've confirmed I had the right settings all along, and I have no problem retrieving my email by normal methods, I'm pretty sure it's something wrong with their system.
Thank you very much. Happy Thanksgiving. :-D
